About Reveal IT
Reveal IT is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing free digital skills training for older people in our community.
Our Mission
Digital skills are a precondition for digital inclusion. Many older people in our communities will have passed their working and personal lives without exposure to digital technologies or routine computer use and without the need to acquire digital skills. Digital skills training to enhance digital literacy for all and especially among older persons is therefore a key priority as societies advance digitalisation. The emergence of generative artificial intelligence and AI Agents has amplified the need for digital skills community based training to focus on digital inclusion for older people. Digital skills can empower older people to effectively, safely and securely use, and benefit from the opportunities provided by digital technologies (smartphones, tablets, laptops and PCs) and the Internet.
Digital Skills training will be provided by the voluntary participation of third level undergraduate and postgraduate students including those wishing to undertake work experience as Digital Skills Trainers. Government funded inter- generational training programmes are common in European settings such as the Austrian Government funded “Technology in Brief” project, where young people provide training in devices and smart phones to older persons.

Aidan Duane
Director
Dr. Aidan Duane is the Director at Reveal IT. Aidan has over 30 years’ experience as an IT
professional. Aidan holds a PhD (2009) and an MSc (1999) in Information Systems by
Research from University College Cork and a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning
from South East Technological University (2022). Aidan has presented and published his
research in over 50 international journals and conferences and he has won multiple awards
for research and teaching. Aidan is strongly committed to improving digital inclusion for
older people in Ireland.
Sarah Hogan
Content Manager/Digital Trainer
I’m Sarah Hogan, and I work as a Content Manager and Digital Trainer at Reveal IT, where I help individuals and teams grow their digital confidence. I’m also pursuing a degree in Business Information Systems, blending tech skills with real-world business insight. Music is a big part of my life, and I’m a huge basketball fan—whether I’m watching a game or shooting hoops to unwind. I’m curious by nature, always eager to explore new ideas and connect with others who love learning and technology as much as I do.
Conor Walsh
Content Manager/Digital Trainer
Hi, I’m Conor and I’m apart of Reveal IT as a Content Manager and Digital Trainer. I’m living in the heart of Waterford and I am in my final year of Business Information Systems (BIS), where I’ve studied a host of business and IT modules which I hope to put to use in my career as well as my time in Reveal IT. I’ve always found it satisfying to help people with whatever they need guidance with, and as someone who has lived and worked with others who may not be as technically proficient as I am, being a part of Reveal IT has allowed me to hone my own skills that’ll in part allow me to better aid others. In my free time I enjoy a bit of reading and writing, going for a walk on a nice day, and a bit of gaming on not-so nice ones.
Alex Byrne
Content Manager/Digital Trainer
Hello, I’m Alex, from Tramore in county Waterford. I’m a content manager and digital trainer with Reveal IT, and I’m currently studying for a degree in Business Information Systems (BIS). I’m skilled in Python, SQL, AI, SAP, supply chain management, search engine optimisation, and data visualisation. I enjoy working with people, sharing my digital skills, and learning from others along the way. Outside of work and study, I love playing tennis and hitting the gym. If the sun’s out, there’s a good chance you’ll find me with a book in hand or out walking my dogs.
Conor Daly
Web Developer/Digital Trainer
Hello, I’m Conor, from Tramore in county Waterford. I’m a web developer and digital trainer with Reveal IT and I’m currently studying for a degree in Business Information Systems (BIS). I’m skilled in databases, machine learning, and blockchain. I have a particular interest in software’s such as MySQL, Jupyter Notebook, Erwin Data Modeler, Cisco Packet Tracer, Power BI, and I have an interest in programming languages such as Python, Scala and, Solidity. I enjoy going to the gym and I have a great appreciation for reading as I love to keep my knowledge current.
Pavol Pakes
Web Developer/Digital Trainer
Hi, I’m Pavol and I am a Web Developer and Digital Trainer with Reveal IT. I am a Business Information Systems student with a keen interest in Web Development, Big Data Analytics and Data visualisation as they allow me to express my natural creativity in the work that I do. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, and anything outdoors, be that hiking, gardening or fishing.

Hi, I’m Wesley from Mullinahone, County Tipperary. I’m a Bachelor of Business Information Systems student with a background in supply chain management, Python, web development, artificial intelligence, data analytics, data visualization, and SQL. I excel in collaborative settings, enjoy sharing my digital expertise, and embrace new challenges with enthusiasm. In my free time, I build LEGO and I enjoy fishing, and hanging out with with friends.
